Why I love being a Hypnotherapist!

I enjoy my job as I am able to talk to people on a daily basis in a friendly, professional and non judgemental way and am committed to giving the very best care I can to my clients.

I decided to train as a Hypnotherapist after experiencing the benefits for myself. It REALLY helped me improve my life! As a consequence of the therapy I had and how it changed my life for the better I decided to take a career break so I could concentrate full time on my studies.

I was also approaching the big 40 and it was a perfect time to change! Several years later this has now allowed me to have an exciting and rewarding new career where I can help other people to change their lives for the better!

For most of my professional working life I worked for the NHS and I have over 20 years experience in the field of Pathology. I have held senior positions in various Pathology departments of local hospitals and have a wide knowledge base as a consequence. I enjoyed my career very much as it was people based and involved helping staff and patients.

As a result my interpersonal skills are excellent and this helped me to achieve a high level of management with extensive interaction with large amounts of staff and members of the public.

There was a commitment to my own professional and personal development and I hold many qualifications from my time with the NHS. These include the Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science (FIBMS), Certificate of Management Studies (CMS), Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managers qualification along with many others.

I have trained at the prestigious and highly reputable Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis (EICH), referred to as the Essex Institute. This has been under the tutorage of Terence Watts, one of the UK’s most highly respected hypnotherapists in practice today.

The National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists

I am a member of this orgaanisation which only registers properly qualified therapists who have been practising over two years. There is a requirement to obtain and maintain advanced qualifications for admission. Their site is www.nrah.com  

All of these organisations are registered with the UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO). Before you visit any hypnotherapist ensure they are registered with UKCHO, only those trained to acceptable standards will be logged. Visit their site at www.ukcho.co.uk.

I am also registered with the Complementary Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), reg. number 001014-L10. This is a register of practitioners who have passed stringent training and registration checks and are recommended to work in their areas of expertise. I am still fully committed to my own personal and professional development and undertake regular Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and supervision which ensures I always offer not only the very best therapy for you but also the most up to date techniques.

This means you can rely on total discretion and confidentiality at all times. I will deliver the very best safe sound therapy I am able to.

A recent addition is that I am now a course assistant at the Essex Institute which allows me to help train future therapists and will help me on the way to running my own school in the future.
